Overnight Disturbance Near 972 N 2nd St - 9/14/12

To NLNA TownWatch:

There was a group of 10-12 men and women involved in much noise - hollering, pushing/shoving matches, banging on cars - at about 4 AM in the morning of 9/14/12 in front of our home across from Tendenza. Some of them at least had come by two cars which were parked in front of our home. We were awakened by the commotion. What we saw going on appeared rough enough for us to think it might get worse, so we called 911. Several police cars arrived within 5 minutes. Group melted away through the Piazza, but left cars behind. Some of group returned within an hour and hung around for a while and then left with cars.

I am a little surprised that group chose this spot for its conflict resolution activity. It's relatively well-lit and open, and I assume Tendenza's camera's are always recording. I will check on that with Tendenza - who are good neighbor as far as we are concerned. I don't have recording camera, but I am moving in that direction. I had a couple of tree guards that were badly damaged in previous incidents, perhaps not accidentally. I want the deterrence of a camera before I reinstall them.

I am recording the event/non-event mainly to indicate that police response was timely. Police left quickly as group dispersed, so I did not have chance to thank them directly.

Frank.
