Sonata has closed

Postby Sonata » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:23 pm

Greetings Friends and Neighbors,

I'm sad to say that the rumors are true; Sonata has closed. We wish to thank everyone for three amazing years in Northern Liberties. In the years since we've opened, I've really learned that our experience there was special and I was thrilled to be able to share it with all of our guests. Of all the things that made Sonata great for me, the best is getting to know my guests so well. Thank you for making it a great place to work.

I look forward to seeing everyone as soon as we are re-established. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve you.

On behalf of the staff at Sonata, I wish you all the best.

Booooooo! Very sad to hear. My wife and I always really enjoyed every meal we had there (as well as your ribs etc. at the rib cookoffs.) Please post any information about your next venture when it becomes available.

Sad news indeed. We loved it there, but like many of you I guess, we didn't support it as we should have. Godspeed, Mark, you truly gave it your best.

Mary - I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I walked by about an hour ago. Am kicking myself for not going to Sonata more often. The food was always amazing and Mark is well, just awesome ! I wish great things for him. Will definitely be a big loss for Liberties Walk and the neighborhood. Am going to go some byob in the hood on Sunday... I wish it was Sonata.

I feel the same as everyone else. Sonata was one of the best kept secrets in the neighborhood, and it shouldn't have been (kept secret, that is). Good look with your future endeavors and please keep us posted!

Oh no - I loved Sonata; it was one of my very favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. I'm so sorry to learn that it has closed.

Mark and Alex - thank you so much for three wonderful years. Please let us know whenever your next enterprise is up and running.

Best,
Matt
