Kessler Supply shutting down

I know Kessler Supply is not in Northern Liberties, but it's close at 12th and Girard. Just heard they're closing their doors for the last time after 66 years in business under the same family. There will be a big going out of business sale from what I've been told.

Always thought Kessler was a good local place for most hardware needs and I'm disappointed to see a small business owner shut down.

i was pretty psyched when Metro opened and i never had to go to that place again

Thats a shame. I used to love going in there instead of the big box stores for smaller items. All the dudes used to flock to my wife and we couldn't have had better service.

Agreed. Small biz is the foundation of the economy. It is tough out there. 12th and Girard may not be the easiest place to find another small biz to step in and make a go of it. Thus, the other downside is having vacancies, especially in areas that need the commercial support.
