Workshop A: Saturday, Aug. 11, 10:00am-1:00pm, $30
“Getting Your Portfolio Online” explains the importance of putting your portfolio on the internet.Students will given the tools they need to build, structure and manage their own professional website using a free portfolio building site available to them online. Then each student will learn what a good quality image looks like, how and when to re-size images, and finally, how to upload images onto their new websites. They will be equipped with the tools and templates for how to create the typical items expected of a professional artist's website, including artist statement, bio, resume, gallery, and contact information.
Workshop B: Saturday, Aug. 25th, 10:00am-1:00pm, $30
“Building Your Online Presence as an Artist” explains the importance of creating and maintaining an online presence in order to market your art. The workshop offers basic social networking marketing schemes for facebook and twitter. Students will be taught the importance of blogging towards building and maintaining your audience as well as some basic search engine optimization techniques. Students will leave knowing how to use the internet as a resource to find and create opportunities to show their work in the online community as well as in the non-cyber world.
