David wrote:So if Aura shuts down for good on Wednesday, how can they be having a huge party on Thursday? From Dan Gross' column in today's Daily News:
17 Days of Fashion set
Northern Liberties lounge Club Aura (628 N. Front), which was closed briefly last week by the Department of Licenses and Inspections after multiple citations for operating as a nuisance bar, will host Thursday's kickoff event for the third-annual 17 Days of Fashion, at which R&B singer Ginuwine is to appear.
The party will feature fashion-industry insiders, politicians, musicians and media types. It is open to the public, but you must R.S.V.P. To do so or to learn more about the festival, founded by the Philadelphia Fashion Consortium and featuring 21 events, visit 17DaysofFashion.com.

Good question! Another question would be what politician would make it to this party? Nutter? : )

So far it looks like they haven't tried to peel off the candy stripe stickers like they did the last time they went up.
*sigh* if there's just one cardinal rule about Philly... if a club owner wants to run bottle service out of his establishment, then his club needs to be put far away from a residential area as possible because usually the place winds up generating maximum amounts of drama.
It's just like this bozo who wants to open a THREE STORY version of the same thing near my house:

That asshat threatened to sue me and my neighbors for calling out his shit like it is. Epic fail. Read the letter from my lawyer, it's hilarious.
